Health care

I have spent the majority of my career working as a health center physician and chief physician in primary healthcare in Helsinki. Through my work, I have gained a deep understanding of what works and what does not in outpatient care.

I want to see a strong and well-functioning primary healthcare system where preventive measures for mental health, substance abuse, and social exclusion play a central role.

To create smoother and more efficient healthcare services, digital tools need to be further developed, and generative artificial intelligence should be utilized as a valuable support in primary healthcare. This can help reduce the workload and free up time and resources to improve the quality of patient care.

Education

Helsinki should strive to be the most family-friendly city in the world. This means ensuring a seamless everyday life for families with children, supported by a well-connected network of high-quality daycare centers and schools.

Excellence and ambition in early childhood education and schooling are essential to safeguarding our democratic society, prosperity, and future success. A safe and inspiring learning environment is only possible when children, students, and staff in education and childcare feel supported and empowered.

Every child and young person should have equal opportunities to succeed in school, regardless of their background. Achieving this requires skilled professionals, more trusted adults in schools, and proactive measures to foster inclusion, equality, and effective prevention of bullying, social exclusion, and segregation.

Environment

As a city council member from 2021 to 2025, I have closely followed Helsinki’s environmental efforts. We have set ambitious climate goals, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2030 and carbon negativity from 2040 onwards.

Now that emissions from heating have significantly decreased, we must shift our focus to transportation. We need to create better incentives for sustainable modes of travel.

Helsinki has a unique opportunity to lead the way through innovative decisions in energy, transportation, procurement, land use, and waste management. Environmental considerations must be given focus in every decision and procurement process.

Said about Nora

”Two absolutely central issues for a decision-maker in Helsinki are healthcare and education. Nora has exceptionally strong expertise in these areas. Sustainable politics is built on knowledge, empathy, trust, and an understanding that sustainability always has an economic dimension as well. Nora masters all of this – with a generous dose of creativity as an extra touch.”
Anders Adlercreutz, Party President of SFP, Minister of Education, Member of Parliament, entrepreneur, architect
”Nora is a wise, warm, and strong-willed person, and this applies equally to her as a politician. From her work as a doctor, she brings valuable knowledge about Helsinki’s healthcare services. As a mother of three teenagers, she has a close understanding of the challenges young people face today. In her role as chairperson of the Education Committee’s Swedish section, she has consistently defended both early childhood education and schools being close to families. City politics is about all of this, and Nora succeeds in using both her brain and her heart in politics.”
Eva Biaudet, Member of Parliament, SFP
”Nora is the kind of person who doesn’t just listen but truly hears what you are saying! She is wise, driven, and the bravest person I know!”
Tinka Ullbro, Executive Director at Luckan
””When Nora takes on something, she fully commits herself 100% and gets it done.”
Marie Lundberg, docent, specialist physician in otorhinolaryngology
”Nora is characterized by a genuine curiosity about how everything connects. She also has a natural and selfless drive to find good solutions. This makes her an interesting person to discuss with, but above all, someone you can trust with shared concerns.”
Eric Enqvist, CEO, startup entrepreneur in bioeconomy
”Nora is a very positive, sympathetic, empathetic, smart, ambitious, and responsible person who always has a response and finds solutions to everything! She is a top-tier SuperWoman with a sparkle in her eye and her heart in the right place. ❤️✨”
Daniela Fogelholm, singer, actress, clown
”Nora has excellent judgment. The world is full of people who are wise and kind. But if you are looking for someone who also has unfailing good judgment, the selection becomes much more limited. In my eyes, Nora is a wise and kind person who, in addition, has impeccable discernment. These three qualities together create a fourth: Nora has integrity.”
Jocke Enegren, Förbundet Hem och Skola
”Nora is someone whose word you can trust. She is clear in her communication and has an ability to listen and help others grow in their roles. There are few politicians in Helsinki who know the education sector as thoroughly as Nora, from early childhood education to higher education.”
Laila Andersson, CEO and Principal at Prakticum Vocational School
”I have come to know Nora as a person with both intellect and heart. She sees opportunities and has a genuine commitment to society, along with a remarkable ability to push things forward without running over anyone.”
Micaela Romantchuk, Executive Director at Förbundet Hem och Skola
”Nora is a wise, attentive, and effective decision- maker who always has the best interests of Helsinki’s residents at heart. It has been a pleasure to collaborate in the Swedish section, where she leads the discussions.”
Ted Urho, Executive Director at Tankesmedjan Magma
”Nora is energetic and determined. She combines a social conscience with economic sense. Nora is my candidate in the election.”
Henrik Wolff, Professor, former Rector of Arcada University of Applied Sciences
”One of the wisest people I know. Always interesting to talk to. Curious and engaged. Gets things done and thinks in new ways. A person who listens and gives good advice. And fun. She has unexpected ideas. She has a positive and life-affirming attitude. Full of energy.”
Matilda Rotkirch, Minister Councillor at Sweden’s EU Representation
”Nora has vision and pursues it with impressive competence – and a big heart.”
Mardy Lindqvist, journalist
”I appreciate Nora’s way of listening, leading, and seeing the big picture. She communicates skillfully and stays true to her values. Plus, working with her is always enjoyable.”
Runa Ismark, teacher at Lagstads skola
”Nora is sharp, full of ideas, and charismatic. When she gets going, things happen quickly! I especially appreciate her commitment to culture and sustainable urban development.”
Tom Cederqvist, Architect
”Nora has a genuine ability to listen and respect others’ experiences and expertise. As a chairperson, she successfully combines them with her own extensive knowledge and experience to achieve the best possible outcome. Our discussions are always equally rewarding, whether we are talking about children’s rights, association work, politics, or everyday matters.”
Ulrika Krook, university teacher at Soc&Kom and Senior Legal Specialist
“Nora is a determined and responsible decision-maker who thoroughly familiarizes herself with the issues at hand. Working with her is always both pleasant and constructive, as she values open dialogue. Nora knows how to listen – and that is one of the most important qualities of a decision-maker.”
